Law enforcers on Sunday have seized a car from a glass factory in Singrail area at Siddhirganj of Narayanganj in connection with the abduction and killing of the seven people including city panel mayor Nazrul Islam.
Awami League lawmaker Shamim Osman’s maternal father-in-law Jamal Uddin is the owner of JM Glass Factory from where the car has been seized, police said seeking anonymity.
Dr Khondakar Mohiduddin, Superintendent of police, told Dhaka Tribune, they were investigating whether Nuruzzaman alias George Mia, younger brother of Nur Hossain, main accused in the Nazrul murder case, owned the car.
The car was seized suspecting that it might be used in the abduction and killing incidents of seven people including Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam.
The police officer also said the charge of investigation of the case had been handed over to Detective Branch (DB).
