Abducted motor-parts businessman rescued

Police have rescued a motor-parts businessman, who was abducted earlier from Old Dhaka, from the capital’s Jurain area early on Saturday.

The law enforcers have also detained five persons, including two women, for their alleged involvement with the kidnap, reported DMP news.

Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Bongshal police station, said acting on a tip-off, team of police conducted a raid in the area and rescued Abdul Hakim from a house early Saturday.

The law enforcers also arrested four people from the house in connection with their involvement in abduction of Hakim.

After getting information from the detainees, police conducted separate drives in the area and arrested another “kidnapper.”

The businessman was abducted from Old Dhaka's Mokimbazar area on Thursday afternoon.

Later, the kidnappers called his family members and demanded ransom.

Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Bongshal Police Station, said a team of police conducted a raid in the area and rescued Abdul Hakim, 35, who has motor parts business, from a house early Saturday morning.

 

Police also arrested two people on the spot in connection with their involvement in abduction of Hakim.

 

After getting information, police conducted separate drives in the area and arrested three more people for their alleged involvement in the kidnap incident.

 

Abdul Hakim had been reportedly kidnapped by some miscreants from Bangshal on Thursday noon.

 

Later the abductors over phone demanded a ransom from the victim’s family for his release.
