BGB, BSF talk bilateral issues

Border Guard Bangladesh and the Indian Border Security Force have discussed bilateral issues in a sector commander level meeting held at Petrapole BSF camp, India on Wednesday night.

Khulna BGB Sector Commander Colonel Mizanur Rahman made the disclose to the journalists after the meeting at night.

Colonel Mizanur said: “Human trafficking, arms, gold, drug smuggling and trans-border security issues were focused in the meeting.”

ID Sharma received the Bangladesh delegate on arrival, he said.

Colonel Mizanur Rahman lead the delegation from Bangladesh's side while the Indian delegation was lead by Deputy Inspector General of Kolkata BSF ID Sharma.

A total of 32 member delegates, 16 delegates each from Bangladesh and India took part in the meeting at Petrapole.

BGB 26 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Matiur Rahman, BGB 34 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Anwarul Kabir, Staff officer ieutenant Colonel Imarat, Lieutenant Colonel Atiq, Major Abul Kalam Azad and Major Amanullah, among the others, were present in the meeting from the Bangladesh's side.
