Injured BCL leaders shifted to Dhaka

The injured leaders from the Rajshahi University Chhatra League unit have been shifted to the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in the capital at noon on Tuesday, BCL RU unit president Mizanur Rahman Rana told the Dhaka Tribune.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, a group of unidentified miscreants on Tuesday have allegedly severed a leg of one of the activists and cut down tendons of the leg and hand of another leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League of Rajshahi University unit on the campus.

The victims have been identified as Abdullah Al Masud and Tagar Mohammad Saleh, second year students of history and folklore departments respectively who were admitted to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

BCL and police have accused Shibir activists for involvement in the incident.

Meanwhile, police have arrested about fifteen Shibir activists suspecting their involvement in the incident.

Masud and Saleh who are the residents of university’s Madar Bux Hall, were also identified as activists and student scholarship affairs secretary BCL RU unit respectively, BCL leaders said.

The miscreants severed the right leg of Masud from under the knee of his body and also cut tendons of the leg and hand of Saleh, RMCH sources said.
