Road crashes kill 3 in capital

Three people have been killed and another injured in separate incidents of road crashes in the capital's Aftab Nagar and Jurain early on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Nur-e-Alam, 29, of Thakurgaon, Abdul Motaleb Bhuiyan, 55, of Shariyatpur and Mohammad Uzzal, 27, son of Gandhi Miah of Tulabagicha of West Jurain.

In Aftabnagar: Two truck drivers were killed and another person injured when a truck crashed into a pole and turned turtle around 2:30am.

Badda police station Sub-Inspector Anwarul Islam said: “Injured Saifur Ali is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital while the bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue for autopsy.”

“The two were killed and Saifur was injured when they feel under the goods-laden truck as it overturned,” he said.

In Jurain, a recklessly driven truck hit Uzzal from behind near Buriganga Bridge1 at Postogola around 8am.

Kadomtoli police station Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam said: “He was rushed to the DMCH in a critical state where the doctors declared him dead soon after he was admitted to the hospital.”
