The railway communication on Dhaka- Dinajpur route has been snapped after a Dinajpur-bound Drutojan Express derailed on the Bangabandhu Bridge.
The derailment occured around 11:15pm, Mozammel Haque, Chief engineer of Bangabandhu Bridge maintenance authority, told Dhaka Tribune.
Some nine bogies of the train went off the tracks snapping the rail connection.
Rescue teams of fire service were on the way to the spot from Sirajganj and Tangail.
