Two people have been killed and four others injured when lightning struck them in Kapasia upazila of the district on Saturday night.
The deceased are Hiron Mia, 25, of Charanlakshmi village and Shahnaz Akhter, 25, of Lohadi village.
Police and locals said a thunderbolt struck Hiron and Shahnaz while they were working outside at around 8pm.
Four others have sustained injuries at the same time, said police.
Officer-in-Charge of Kapasia police station Ahsanullah confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
