A cultural programme titled Rabindranath Onyo Aloy will be held at 7pm today at the premises of Chhayanaut. Musical sessions along with poetry recitations will be the main attractions of the event and will feature singers Shimul Zaman and Nirjher Chowdhury. A recitation will be presented by Rizwan Kabir Shumon. Following Rizwan’s presentation, Tagore songs and poems will be rendered by Pinaki Bhattacharya. Tagore’s philosophy and work has a universal appeal and in between each sessions, the story behind the songs and poems will be discussed.
Shimul Zaman is a Rabindra Sangeet singer and her rendezvous with music began at a very early age. She learned eastern classical and then branched into Nazrul Sangeet and later into Rabindra Sangeet. On the way, she received numerous accolades. Nirjher Chowdhury is a music teacher at Dharok.
