Update : 25 Apr 2014, 09:01 PM

Glamour girl Mim will be seen as Rabindranath Tagore’s epic charactaer Chitrangada in a TV play titled Ami-e Chirangada. Directed by Ruman Runi and scripted by Matia Banu Shuku, the play is an adoption of Tagore’s dance drama Chitrangada.

Excited to work in a play based on Tagore’s literature, Mim said: “For the last few months, I am not signing for any TV plays. But I said yes to this particular one because of the unique dramatisation of the dance drama and the beautiful representation of the character.” Mim is currently busy shooting for M M Kamal Raj’s upcoming film Tarkata with Arifin Shuvoo as her co-star. Her latest film Jonakir Alo has hit the theatres two weeks ago.

She further said: “I face a challenge whenever I am to work on Tagore’s stories. I gave my best effort to do justice to the role of Chitrangada.”

The director explained about the drama: “Here, the audience will find Chitrangada in the context of recent time. It’s an adaption without harming the main philosophy of Tagore’s Chitrangada. I hope the audience will enjoy watching the drama.”

The play also features popular actors such as Shabnam Parveen, Mahmudul Hasan Mithu, Sojol, Farjana Labony and many others.

The shooting has been completed recently and will be televised during Eid-ul-Fitr.
