Update : 24 Apr 2014, 01:22 PM

Huge number of bullets, parts of weapons and two grenades believed to be hidden during Liberation War, have been unearthed in Chittagong on Thursday afternoon.

Tanvir Arafat, additional deputy commissioner CMP (west zone) told the Dhaka Tribune that the ammunition were recovered from a house on Lane no16 in B Block under the Halishahar police station.

“These were found in the deep soil, and all of those bullets, grandees and weapon's parts were inactive, so it is believed that freedom fighters might have hid these these during the liberation war,”

He said the ammunition were found at the residence of Md Nasir at the time of construction work of the house.

According to the police, the bullets might be 400 to 500.
