Rail communications with Chandpur has been severed from the country after 10 carriages of a oil-laden train derailed in Bakila area on Wednesday afternoon.
The derailment has taken place around 5:15pm, Chandpur Boro Station Master Sirajul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune.
“A rescue train is on its way from Laksam junction. It will take upto four more hours to restore the lines,” he said around 6:30pm.
