A Border Guard Bangladesh trooper has died and another Bangladesh Army man injured in a road crash in Boidarapur area, Jhalakathi.
The deceased was identified as Sohag Hossain, 26, son of Abdul Latif from Pirojpur, police said. The injured was his brother Sagir Hossain, 31.
Both Sohag and Sagir were on a motorcycle which collided head on with a speeding bus on the Khulna-Barisal highway around Sunday noon, police said.
Jhalakathi Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Shilmoni Chakma said Sohag succumbed at Barisal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
“Army member Sagir is attending treatments at the hospital in a critical condition,” he said. The body of the deceased, Sohag Hossain, was sent for autopsy.
Procedures were underway to file a case regarding this matter.
