Six members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Kanabil Mor area in the Kushtia town on Sunday morning.
Of the injured, Subedar Mahiuddin, Lance Naiks Shafiul Islam and Obaidul and Sipoy Abdul Halim have been sent to the capital by helicopter as their condition deteriorated.
BGB 32 commender Lt. Col. Md Mehedi Hassain said the accident has taken place around 6am while the BGB members were on their way back to the camp after conducting a drive.
The pick-up van that was carrying the BGB men suddenly hit a road side tree as the driver lost his control over the steering, leaving them injured, he added.
