The Government has decided to appoint Md Monirul Islam, currently serving as Consul General in Bangladesh Consulate General, New York, as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Morocco, reports BSS.
A career diplomat, Monirur Islam belongs to 10th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.
In his distinguished diplomatic career besides being Bangladesh Consul General in New York, he served in Bangladesh Embassy, Madrid, Bangladesh High Commission Singapore, Bangladesh Embassy, Beijing and Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa in various capacities.
Monirul Islam obtained Master of Social Science (MSS) degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka and also an MA in Foreign Affairs and Trade from the Monash University, Australia.
