Recently, Mili’s calm schedule is moving to the fast lane once again and shooting for her recent project Shunno Theke Shuru, a drama series written and directed by Alvi Ahmed has already begun. Mili took a step back from her busy career a year ago to settle down with her new married life and embraced motherhood in the process.
About her recent project, Mili said: “I always had a keen interest for working in significant roles and good scripts. I will be playing the role of Dipa in the drama series and I am very much encouraged to play the role. I will continue to work in drama series if the script is good and the character offered is important enough. I love acting and strong characters are always a good actor’s dream.”
Director Alvi says, “The drama Shunno Theke Shuru has an interesting storyline that revolves around a group of friends, I hope that the audience will appreciate the drama series, it is the only incentive for making good dramas.”
Talented with the beauty of a classic Bengali woman, Mili came into the limelight with Gias Uddin Selim’s film Monpura that received audience appreciation and critics’ praise. As a student of the department of Drama and Dramatics of Jahangirnagar University, she has the experience of working in theatres. About her dream role, Mili told Dhaka Tribune: “Recently I saw a theatre play of Loko Natyadal titled Lilaboti Akhyan. The story brought tears to my eyes and I had an urge to work on the character of Lilaboti, as it is a strong and challenging character, the kind of role I would love to play. It was a heartbreaking experience to see a girl’s unjustified suppression in the society. I also want to do roles in Tagore’s adaptations.
About her favourite co-actors, Mili said: “A year back, I worked with many brilliant actors, among them I enjoyed working with Nayeem, Nisho and others as well.
Mili was multitalented from her childhood and was involved in singing, performing and recitation. She also took lessons in the art of both singing and performing. Mili was selected for the National Performance Award (Child) in 1997 and 1998.
