Two Canadian lawmakers have conducted pre-election observation discussions with a cross section of people and are going to publish their report in a week.
Russ Hiebert and Joe Daniel came to Dhaka on Tuesday on a three-day fact-finding mission convened by Brussels-based South Asia Democratic Forum.
“We met leaders from a wide cross-section of the Bangladeshi society including religious leaders, journalists, lawyers, academics, former government and military officials and representatives of various civil society orgainstaions,” Hiebert told journalists on Thursday.
Responding to a question, he said they did not meet any elected representative and government officials.
Their report would be released next week and it would be available on the forum website, he said.
