Muslims across the country observed Jum'atul Wida today, the last Jum'a (Friday prayers) in the holy month of Ramadan, with due solemnity and religious fervour.
A large number of devotees attended the Jum'a prayers held in mosques across the country with special munajats seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country and the unity of the Muslim nations.
The largest 'Juma'tul Wida' congregation was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in capital Dhaka. Thousands of devotees took part in the congregation. Special arrangements were made to accommodate the extraordinary surge of the faithful in all mosques in various parts of the city.
The managements of mosques in many places erected 'samianas' (tents) outside the main mosque buildings to create additional space for offering of prayers. At many places, the faithful even offered prayers on roads, reported UNB.
Khatibs and ulema delivered special sermons on the occasion and exhorted the faithful to submit themselves to the will of Almighty Allah to seek His mercy and blessings.
They called for greater unity among the world Muslims to counter the present-day challenges and prayed for peach and happiness for the Muslims of the world, including Bangladesh.
