The family members of Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid have called a press conference to brief media over the death row war criminal's review rejection order.
The press briefing is scheduled to be held at the auditorium of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) around 12 noon Saturday, said Mujahid's son Ali Ahmed Mabrur.

Replying to the query whether the family members will meet the war crimes convict again, he said: “We have met him Thursday and right now we do not have any such plan.
“But our lawyers will try to meet him tomorrow [Saturday] as they were not allowed to meet my father today [Friday].”
Regarding presidential clemency, Mujahid's last chance for life, his son said: "My father will discuss the issue with his lawyers."

On Thursday evening, Mujahid’s lawyer Tamim requested the jail authorities to allow a five-member team of lawyers to meet the Jamaat leader on Friday morning to decide the next course of action.
The jail authorities fixed 10am Friday for the meeting. However, the lawyers were not allowed to meet him.
On Thursday, the jail authorities read out the full verdict of the apex court against Mujahid.

The Appellate Division bench, which on Wednesday had dismissed the his review petition filed against his death sentence, released the full text on Thursday evening.
On July 17, 2013, the International Crimes Tribunal 2 ordered to hang Mujahid by the neck for the massacre of intellectuals including scientists, academics and journalists, and his involvement in the murder and torture of Hindus in Faridpur during the war.
Mujahid appealed against the tribunal verdict on August 11, 2013 and the hearing began on April 29 this year. On June 16, 2015, the Appellate Division delivered its judgement, upholding death for the Jamaat secretary general.
On October 14, Mujahid sought review of the SC verdict.
Mujahid's defence had not raised any point regarding the charge for which the Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general was sentenced to life in prison after the hearing of his review petition.
At the hearing of the review petition before the Appellate Division of the High Court, Mujahid’s lawyers only presented arguments against the charge for which the Al-Badr commander had been sentenced to death.
