Update : 28 Apr 2024, 11:51 PM

The government has asked farmers in six districts of the country’s Haor areas to harvest the Boro paddy and take other cautionary measures as heavy rainfall may occur from May 3.

The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) issued a forecast in this regard on Sunday for Sylhet, Sunamganj, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Kishoreganj, Brahmanbaria and Netrokona districts.

The forecast said heavy rainfall may occur in the six districts from May 3. For this, the farmers should harvest the Boro paddy if the crops are 80% ripened.

The farmers have also been asked to collect vegetables, heighten borders of crop fields, remove accumulated water and not use pesticides or fertilizers before the rain.
