The chief priest and others working at Dhaka's Ramakrishna Mission Math have received death threats amid a crackdown on militants.
A complaint was filed at the Wari police station on Wednesday night by one Mridul Maharaj from the Math, Officer-in-Charge Jihad Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.
Purported militant group Islamic State sent the letter from a Gazipur address asking the mission staff to leave the country between June 20 and 30 or be killed.
This comes amid a wave of attacks on minorities in recent months that left several people dead across Bangladesh.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit chief Monirul Islam told reporters, in response to a query, that they were looking into the incident.
A Hindu teacher of Government Nazimuddin College in Madaripur was the latest victim. He was critically injured after suspected militants hit him with sharp weapons at his house on Wednesday.
