Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak has said that country’s people have given a clear verdict against BNP that it no place on the soil of Bengal
“The BNP-Jamaat evil forces burn and kill people,” said Nanak while addressing a rally at historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the city.
Bangladesh Awami League arranged the rally in observance of the historic homecoming day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman after the 1971 Liberation War.
Addressing the BNP, he said: “You say that the voters did not come to vote. Hey idiots, have you forgotten that your Zia seized state power through a ‘yes or no’ vote. Not a single percent of votes were cast that day.”
Nanak further said that Awami League does not want terrorism and arson.
“We want a parliament that has the spirit of the liberation war and believes in a non-communal Bangladesh. The historic journey began today by making Sheikh Hasina the Prime Minister for the fifth time,” he added.
