Miscreants have allegedly beaten up the father of Taslima, a member of Asian Football Confederation Under-16 Women Qualifiers champion team.
The assault took place at Mohilla Market in Kolshindur area under Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh on Wednesday night.
Sobuj Mia, 40, claimed Kolshindur High School physical education teacher Jubed Talukdar and his men beat him up with sticks.
He said: “The Under-16 girls will be honoured at a programme on September 17 in Dhaka but Jubed asked them not to attend the programme. He asked Taslima and some other girls to attend a school match instead.
“He (Jubed) verbally abused us [parents] and the girls when they refused to skip the programme for the school match during a meeting with him last evening [Wednesday].”
Following the development, Jubed and his men physically assaulted Sobuj.
