The deceased are Ukkoha Marma, 32, and Humang Marma, 25.
Alikhang Union Chairman Biswonath Tongchonga said: “The locals caught and beat up the two when they went to beat up one Thuichhaching Marma of the same area on Tuesday night.”
They died on the spot, he said.
The Chairman said they were the members of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samity (PCJSS).
Roangchhari OC Omor Ali said: “We have sent police to the spot to recover the bodies.”
Security has been beefed up in the area to avoid untoward situations, he said.
