The new prices came into effect at 10am on Friday

Update : 06 Nov 2026, 11:18 AM

Gold prices in Bangladesh fell by Tk2,739 per bhori on Friday, a day after a major increase, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus).

The new prices came into effect at 10am on Friday.

Under the revised rates, 22-carat gold is priced at Tk2,26,937 per bhori (11.664 grams), down from Tk2,29,676 on Thursday.

The price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk19,455 per gram.

The new rates were announced following a meeting of the Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Friday morning.

The association said the prices were adjusted in response to a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market.

According to the revised rates, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk18,580 per gram, 18-carat gold at Tk15,955, and traditional-method gold at Tk13,035.

Silver prices also reduced

Bajus has also reduced silver prices.

Under the new rates, 22-carat silver is priced at Tk300 per gram, 21-carat silver at Tk290, 18-carat silver at Tk250, and traditional-method silver at Tk190.

Bajus said making charges will vary depending on the design of the jewellery.

VAT is included in the prescribed selling prices, so jewellers cannot charge it separately from customers.

For exchanges of old gold jewellery, a 12% deduction will apply to the prescribed price after excluding making charges and stone prices.

For purchases of old gold, an 18% deduction will apply.

VAT cannot be deducted separately in either case.

The revised prices will remain in effect at all jewellery shops across the country until further notice, Bajus said.

Gold prices adjusted 133 times this year

Gold prices in the domestic market have been adjusted 133 times this year, with 64 increases, 68 reductions and one VAT adjustment.

In 2025, Bajus adjusted gold prices 93 times, raising them 64 times and lowering them 29 times.

The number of price adjustments has increased significantly compared with last year, as fluctuations in pure gold prices in international and local markets have prompted frequent changes in domestic rates.
