MedAI Bangladesh Limited, an affiliate of AequiSym AI Limited, has announced that its AI-driven digital health platform, AmarDoctor, has been selected as a winner of the 2026 Global Citizen and PayPal Small Business Impact Awards.

PayPal Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Amy Bonitatibus and Global Citizen President Liza Henshaw jointly announced the 15 global winners this week. The UK- and Bangladesh-based organization, founded by Mamunur Rashid, was recognized for its work addressing healthcare challenges.

The awards are a grant and recognition program jointly organized by international nonprofit organization Global Citizen and payment services company PayPal. The program supports small businesses worldwide that develop innovative and sustainable solutions to social, environmental and local challenges, helping them expand their impact through financial and institutional support.

Each winning organization typically receives a grant of $20,000 to $25,000, along with mentorship.

The 15 winners were officially announced in early October 2026 through online announcements and a global press release, rather than at a single in-person award ceremony. AmarDoctor and its founder, Mamunur Rashid, are featured on Global Citizen's official 2026 winners list, while PayPal's newsroom announcement also confirms the platform's inclusion.

The program began as a pilot in 2025, recognizing 5 initiatives worldwide. In 2026, it expanded to include 15 organizations from different countries.

Alongside AmarDoctor, this year's winners include Crossover Meats, change Labs and Sotira in the United States; Watoto Arts in Sweden; Green Mama Compost in Guatemala; MINA Solar Energy in Brazil; and SafeSip in Tanzania.

The awards cover sectors beyond healthcare, including environmental protection, waste management and climate action, education and artificial intelligence, agriculture and sustainable food production, sanitation and access to safe water, mental health, and women's empowerment.

Other recognized initiatives include STEM Minds, RLKids and InsideOut.
