Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal on Friday urged the countrymen to work together to rebuild a Bangladesh free of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
He said: "We'll all work together to build our country in such a way that the rule of law is established here, human rights are secured, and Bangladesh is run in accordance with the constitution."
He made the remarks while talking to journalists after visiting the residence of Bhanga Gharua Union former chairman Alomgir Hossain in the district on Friday morning.
Kamal said: "For this, we seek everyone's cooperation. The new democracy that has been established in Bangladesh is advancing step by step. For giving it institutional shape, the people need to exercise tolerance and patience."
He added: "Together, we will build Bangladesh in our own way so that from now on, everyone can understand that the rule of law has been established here, human rights have been secured, and Bangladesh is being run constitutionally."
During the visit, the Deputy Speaker was accompanied by lawmaker Md Shohidul Islam (Faridpur-4 constituency) and other local BNP leaders.
