29,694 Bangladeshi Hajis return home

The return Hajj flights started on May 30 and will continue until June 30

A total of 29,694 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of Thursday following the completion of this year's Hajj held on June 26.

 "A total of 71 return flights were operated by three designated carriers 24 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 28 by Saudia Airlines and 19 by Flynas Airlines," an official said. 

The Hajj office said, so far, 3,328 Hajis returned under government management, while 26,366 under private travel agency arrangements, in 71 flights.

A total of 46 Bangladeshi pilgrims, 30 males and 16 females, passed away in Saudi Arabia during this year's Hajj. Of them, 35 died in Makkah and 11 in Madinah, while no deaths were reported in Jeddah, Mina, or Muzdalifah.

Besides, a total of 262 Hajis received treatment from various hospitals in Saudi Arabia due to diseases, while 24 Hajis were hospitalized. Saudi Arabian medical centers provided treatment to 56,312, while the IT help desk gave services to 25,710 Hajis in Makkah and Madinah.

This year's Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on April 18 and concluded on May 21.

The return Hajj flights started on May 30 and will continue until June 30.
