Its white fur and hairstyle reminded many people of former US President Donald Trump, leading to the nickname “Donald Trump”

The viral albino buffalo named “Donald Trump” will ultimately not be sacrificed during Eid-ul-Azha, following the intervention of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.

The buffalo is being returned from the buyer and taken back to its farm in Narayanganj.

The information was confirmed on Wednesday by Faisal Hasan, deputy chief information officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He said the decision was made due to concerns over excessive public gatherings and possible disorder surrounding the buffalo. The buyer from Keraniganj has been refunded, and for now, “Donald Trump” will continue to be raised at the farm as before.

The nearly 700-kilogram albino buffalo, raised at Rabeya Agro Farm in Paikpara, Narayanganj, gained widespread attention on social media. Its white fur and hairstyle reminded many people of US President Donald Trump, leading to the nickname “Donald Trump.”

Earlier on Monday afternoon, the buffalo was handed over to its buyer in a grand ceremony arranged by the farm. The animal received a “royal farewell” featuring a red carpet, colorful smoke effects, and special decorations. Later, the buyer, Samir from the Jinjira area of Dhaka, took it to the capital.

According to the farm authorities, the buffalo was sold at Tk550 per kilogram as live weight. The four-year-old buffalo weighed around 690 kilograms.

After going viral, crowds from distant areas flocked to the farm to see the buffalo. In addition to Bangladeshi media outlets, international news organizations including Reuters, Agence France-Presse, New York Post, France 24, and Gulf News also published reports on it.
