Advance ticket sales for long-distance buses ahead of Eid-ul-Azha have begun.
According to a decision by the Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners’ Association, ticket sales started on Friday morning through both online platforms and ticket counters.
Advance tickets are being sold for journeys from May 21 until the days leading up to Eid, allowing passengers to book tickets for different routes in advance.
Speaking about the ticket sales, Shyamoli NR Travels General Manager Jibon Chakraborty said ticket sales for all routes began Friday morning. Tickets are available both online and at counters.
He said the highest demand is for journeys on the night of May 24, throughout May 25, and the morning of May 26. Since the government holiday begins on May 25, pressure on tickets during that period is comparatively higher.
He also noted that by 10am, most advance tickets on several routes had already sold out.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners’ Association said no additional fare beyond the rates fixed by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will be allowed.
The same fare will apply both online and at ticket counters. In addition, displaying BRTA-approved fare charts at every counter will be made mandatory.
