Offices resume on Monday after Eid holidays

Government and private institutions resume normal operations as millions return to workplaces and traffic in the capital increases

Update : 31 May 2026, 07:09 PM

All government and private offices, including banks, insurance companies, and capital market institutions, will resume operations on Monday after a long seven-day public holiday for holy Eid-ul-Azha.

The government declared holidays from May 25 to Sunday for Eid.

Combined with the weekend, the government employees enjoyed a full seven days of leave.

After the long break, millions of working people are expected to return to their workplaces starting on Monday.

Although some banks operated on a limited scale before Eid, all banks will return to normal banking activities from Monday.

The number of people returning to the capital has increased following the Eid holidays. Working people are traveling back to the capital from different parts of the country by road, rail, and water transport.

As a result, traffic volume on various roads in the capital is gradually increasing.
