Advisers of the interim government have expressed profound grief and sorrow at the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha.

He passed away while undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Singapore, breathing his last at 9:45pm (Bangladesh time) on Thursday at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, in a condolence message, stated that Sharif Osman Hadi’s courageous and uncompromising role in resisting hegemony and injustice would remain a lasting source of inspiration for the youth of the country.

He described the late Osman Hadi as a fearless warrior in the struggle to establish justice in society, adding that his untimely death constitutes an irreparable loss to both the nation and society.

The foreign affairs adviser prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.

Culture Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, in a Facebook post announcing Hadi’s death, wrote: “Like Abrar and Abu Sayed, Hadi will remain in the heart of Bangladesh even more powerfully by not being physically present. You failed to kill Osman Hadi!”

Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, wrote on his Facebook account: “Martyr Sharif Osman Hadi—do not say of those who are slain in the way of Allah that they are dead. Rather, they are alive, but you do not perceive it.”

Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the chief adviser with responsibility for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, wrote on Facebook: “Some people do not die; they merge into the future as blood, dreams, and revolution. This is the oath of every child of July—that this country will no longer live in fear. Martyr Hadi, you are here, and you will remain—on the path of justice, in the voice of courage, and in the oath of July.”

Meanwhile, Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), also expressed his condolences. In a Facebook status, he wrote: “We could not save our brother from the July movement from fascist inhuman forces. Forgive us, Brother Hadi. May Allah grant you the honor of martyrdom and admit you to Paradise. Ameen.”
