The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced its mayoral candidates for the two Dhaka city corporations.
The party named Nasiruddin Patwary as its candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Asif Mahmud for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
Party convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam announced the names on Sunday afternoon at an exchange meeting with potential councilor candidates from different wards of Dhaka South and North city corporations at the NCP office.
Earlier, the party had planned to field Asif Mahmud for Dhaka South and Ariful Islam Adib for Dhaka North.
At the meeting, Nahid Islam provided guidelines to potential councilor candidates from different wards of the 2 metropolitan areas. He instructed them to search for potential councilor candidates, identify ward-based civic problems, maintain regular contact with the families of July martyrs and those injured, and closely monitor sabotage activities by the ousted and absconding Awami League.
Isahak Sarkar and Ariful Islam Adib, conveners of the South and North metropolitan units respectively, along with leaders from different levels, were present at the meeting.
