Police early on Monday apprehended former Awami League lawmaker from a reserved seat, Sabina Akter Tuhin, from Nawabganj upazila in the district.
Joint commissioner (south) of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Nasirul Islam confirmed to the media of her arrest, saying Tuhin was captured around 2:30am on Monday.
The detainee is an accused in multiple cases linked to the July mass uprising, and she was taken to the DB office on Mintoo Road in the capital city.
She will be produced before a Dhaka court on Monday.
