The interim government has proposed a total budget allocation of Tk31,039 crore for the Ministry of Home Affairs in the 2025–26 fiscal year.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presented the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, amounting to Tk7,89,999 crore, in a televised speech on Monday.
Of the total budget allocated to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Public Security Division will receive Tk27,001 crore—an increase compared to the previous year’s allocation.
The operating expenditure in this division has been set at Tk25,777 crore, while the development expenditure is projected at Tk1,224 crore.
Salehuddin said: “Additionally, the Security Services Division of the ministry has been allocated Tk4,038 crore in the new budget. Of this amount, Tk1,336 crore has been set aside for development expenditure and Tk1,702 crore for operational costs.”
