Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud on Saturday affirmed that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will remain in the interim government, which is committed to completing its assigned responsibilities.
“The chief adviser is staying with us. He has not said he would resign. Other advisers are also staying. We have been given responsibilities, and we are here to carry them out,” he told the reporters following a closed-door meeting of the Advisory Council on Saturday.
Amid ongoing political unrest, members of the interim government’s Advisory Council held a closed-door meeting, following the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) meeting at the NEC conference room.
The unscheduled meeting began at 12:20pm in the NEC conference room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital and concluded around 2:20pm.
The meeting comes amid heightened political tension and growing speculation over the stability and continuity of the interim government.
