In the next five days, temperatures may decrease across the country

Update : 01 Mar 2025, 04:18 PM

Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, and Japan have announced that Ramadan will begin on Saturday.

In Bangladesh, the National Moon Sighting Committee meeting will be held at the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office at 6pm (after Maghrib prayer) on Saturday. If the crescent moon for Ramadan is sighted in the sky, fasting will begin on Sunday.

Meanwhile, as Ramadan begins, many are wondering about the weather in Bangladesh during this time.

Typically, the heat starts in Bangladesh from March. This year, Ramadan is also beginning at the start of this month. Since April is the hottest month, the heat in March tends to be even more intense, according to meteorologists.

Furthermore, global temperatures have been hotter in recent decades compared to previous times.

This year, meteorologists have predicted that alongside the heat, Bangladesh might experience thunderstorms, hail, and cyclones in March.

In the weather forecast for the next 72 hours starting from Saturday, the Meteorological Department has reported that the weather will remain dry across the country on Saturday.

However, there may be some isolated areas in the Sylhet Division experiencing temporary gusty winds and rain or thunderstorms. The department has also forecast the possibility of rain in the Sylhet and Chittagong divisions on Sunday.

In the next five days, temperatures may decrease across the country.

Meteorologists have said that during the first 10 days of March, the sky could be partly cloudy to cloudy in many areas of the country, especially on March 4, 6, and 7.

On March 4, there is a slight possibility of rain in some parts of Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Khulna Divisions, as well as in some other areas.

On March 6 and 7, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some areas of Khulna and Barisal Divisions.

On March 4, thunderstorms may occur in the western regions of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, and on March 6 and 7, some areas of Khulna Division could also experience thunderstorms.

On March 4, gusty winds with speeds ranging from 40-60km/h may blow through Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Kushtia, and surrounding areas. This week, the weather in Bangladesh may be extreme, with hot days and cool nights.

Between March 11 and 20, the sky is expected to remain mostly clear. However, on March 15 and 16, some areas of the country may experience cloudy skies. During this period, there is no significant chance of rainfall.

However, light showers are possible in a few places in the northern regions on March 15 and 16. Additionally, mild heat waves may occur in some parts of Rajshahi and Khulna Divisions on March 18, 19, and 20, and there may be a noticeable chill in the western and northern regions at night.

From March 21 to 31, the sky will be partly cloudy in many areas, with more cloudy conditions expected towards the end of the month. After March 25, medium to heavy rainfall is likely in many areas of the country, and moderate to intense thunderstorms are expected in Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Dhaka, and Sylhet Divisions.

Moreover, there is a risk of medium to severe Kalbaishakhi storms (with winds between 60 to 90 km/h) in various areas of the country. Between March 21 and 25, mild to moderate heat waves may affect some parts of Rajshahi, Khulna, and Rangpur Divisions.
