North South University (NSU) students held a protest demanding justice against violence, rape, and other crimes against women and children.
The protest took place on Saturday, in front of the university.
Students expressed concern over the alarming rise in violence and rape cases in the country.
They said that these incidents threaten the safety of women and are a result of the government's failure to maintain law and order.
Citing the increase in murder, robbery, and snatching, students said they feel unsafe both at home and outside.
They criticized the government’s inability to control crime across the country.
The students demanded swift and strict punishment for all rape cases.
They warned that if the government fails to fulfill its responsibilities, they will take to the streets alongside students from private universities.
More than 50 students participated in the protest, calling for women’s safety and justice.
