Dhaka Residential Model College student killed in road accident

A Dhaka Residential Model College student was killed, and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a motorcycle in Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali.

The accident occurred around 8pm on Saturday near Sikdar's house, close to bridge number two on Mirzaganj Road.

The deceased, Neyamul Haque, also known as Nafiz, was an eleventh-grade student at Dhaka Residential Model School and College.

The injured are Neyamul's friends Safin and Farabi. Safin is in critical condition and has been admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal. Farabi received first aid for minor injuries.

Locals said that Neyamul, along with his friends Safin and Farabi, went to visit Payrakunj on the Patuakhali-Mirzaganj road on Saturday evening. On their return, their motorcycle lost control and collided head-on with a private car near bridge number two. Neyamul and Safin sustained severe injuries. They were taken to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Neyamul dead. Safin was transferred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

Patuakhali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Imtiaz Ahmed said: “The motorcycle lost control, leading to a collision that injured three riders. Sadly, Neyamul succumbed to his injuries.”
