Employees of the Department of Narcotics Control confined their Director General, Khondkar Mostafizur Rahman, to his office due to the blockage of appointments for 314 outsourcing positions.
On Sunday morning, the department's disgruntled employees took position right in front of the DG's office. At this time, the agitated employees demanded a clear answer regarding the appointments.
The employees mentioned that despite long-standing promises, the recruitment process for these positions had not begun, and it was becoming increasingly difficult for them to remain patient.
They complained that the pressure at the workplace was steadily increasing due to the lack of appointments, and many important tasks were being disrupted, while the authorities were not addressing their concerns.
In an attempt to control the situation, DG Khondkar Mostafizur Rahman, through the Ministry of Home Affairs, requested the assistance of the police and the army. Later, the police intervened and brought the situation under control.
Regarding the incident, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station stated that there was an issue related to contractors submitting tenders. Currently, the situation is under control.
