Bangladesh Railway has introduced four new guidelines to enhance transparency and efficiency in train ticket sales.

Among these, a key directive states that no tickets should be reserved in the name of any individual or organization, Bangladesh Railway announced on Sunday.

These guidelines follow a meeting held on October 29 at Rail Bhaban, attended by Railways Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, where ticket sales management was discussed.

The new directives emphasize that tickets should not be reserved in favour of any individual or organization and that reservations are only permitted for tickets authorized by the Ministry of Railways for designated reserved seats.

The divisional commercial officers (DCOs) will oversee the management of these reserved seats. Additionally, any changes to ticket reservation decisions or additional needs must be implemented based on written directives.

The directive also specifies that from November 10, no tickets should be reserved outside of those approved by the ministry.

Furthermore, DCOs are urged to ensure that the release of tickets for reserved seats is documented and properly recorded per the official guidelines.

These measures aim to streamline ticket sales and improve service delivery for railway passengers in the country.
