The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in eight districts.
The districts are Joypurhat, Rajshahi, Rajbari, Sirajganj, Kushtia, Dinajpur, Shariatpur, and Natore.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday.
Among the new DCs, Afroza Akhtar Chowdhury, deputy chief of the Planning Division, has been appointed as the DC of Joypurhat; Afia Akhtar, zonal settlement officer of the Chittagong Land Records and Survey Department, has been appointed as the DC of Rajshahi; Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, an additional secretary at the Ministry of Shipping, has been appointed as the DC of Rajbari; and Muhammad Nazrul Islam, additional director of the Department of Government Housing, has been appointed as the DC of Sirajganj.
Additionally, Mohammad Toufiqur Rahman, deputy secretary of the Finance Division, has been appointed as the DC of Kushtia; Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Deputy secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, has been appointed as the DC of Dinajpur; Mohammad Ashraf Uddin, director of the Neuro-Developmental Disability Protection Trust has been appointed as the DC of Shariatpur; and Asma Shaheen, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has been appointed as the DC of Natore.
