The closing parade of the 40th BCS (Police) batch supposed to be held at Bangladesh Police Academy, Rajshahi, on Sunday has been suspended.
"The closing parade of the 40th BCS (Police) batch scheduled to be held on Sunday at Bangladesh Police Academy, Rajshahi, is not being held due to unavoidable reasons," the chief adviser's press wing said.
Interim government’s Home Affairs Advisor, Lt Gen (Retd) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, was scheduled to receive the salute at the parade and inspect the procession.
Invitations had been sent to law enforcement agencies, senior government officials, distinguished individuals, and media personnel. However, it was announced on Saturday, that the concluding parade had been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
Senior Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Faisal Hasan, said that no invitations were issued from the ministry for the parade event.
Invitations were distributed locally, and the postponement of the parade was communicated locally to everyone last night, he added.
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury visited the Sardah Police Academy on Saturday night.
In addition, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moinul Islam, Director General of RAB AKM Shahidur Rahman, along with senior officials from law enforcement and the government, were also present at the Sardah Police Academy on Saturday night.
