The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has announced another increase in gold prices in the country’s market within a single day.
The price has been raised by a maximum of Tk3,044 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the price of high-quality 22-carat gold at Tk138,708.
Previously, the price was Tk135,664.
This information was provided in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of Bajus's Pricing and Monitoring Committee, on Wednesday.
Bajus stated that the price of gold in the local market has increased.
Considering the overall situation, the new gold prices have been determined which will be effective from Thursday.
According to the new prices, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk138,708 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk132,398, 18-carat at Tk113,491, and traditional gold at Tk93,160 per bhori.
While gold prices have increased, the price of silver has remained unchanged.
Currently, the price of 22-carat silver is Tk2,100 per bhori, 21-carat is Tk2,006, 18-carat is Tk1,715, and traditional silver is Tk1,283.
Previously, Bajus had set gold prices on Tuesday which were still in effect on Wednesday.
