Turkish Airlines appoints new general manager in Dhaka

He will be responsible for managing operations and enhancing the airline's presence in Bangladesh

Turkish Airlines Inc., the national flag carrier of Türkiye and a global leader in aviation, has announced the appointment of Islam Güre as the new General Manager for its Dhaka operations, effective September 1, 2024.

In his new role, Güre will be responsible for managing operations and enhancing the airline's presence in Bangladesh, with a strong focus on maintaining exceptional service standards for passengers travelling between Bangladesh and Turkish Airlines’ global network, said the airline in a statement.

Güre, along with his wife and two children, has been warmly welcomed to the Dhaka community, and Turkish Airlines looks forward to his contributions to the airline’s continued success in the region.

Since its establishment in 1933 with a modest fleet of five aircraft, Turkish Airlines has expanded to become a major global player, now operating over 444 aircraft and serving 345 destinations worldwide.

Güre, who has been with Turkish Airlines for a decade and most recently served as Regional Sales Manager in St. Petersburg, Russia, will now lead the Dhaka office.
