In a joint effort to support those affected by the ongoing floods in the country, the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, along with the Ministry of Water Resources, have collectively contributed Tk9,324,302 to the chief advisor's relief fund.
This fund was raised through the one-day salary donations of officers and employees across these ministries and their affiliated departments.
The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change donated Tk4,664,061.
Among the contributors, the Secretariat provided Tk111,880, the Forest Department Tk3,500,000, the Department of Environment Tk335,045, the Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation Tk315,301, the Bangladesh Forest Research Institute Tk303,122, the Bangladesh National Herbarium Tk40,471, the Bangladesh Rubber Board Tk20,590, and the Bangladesh Climate Change Trust Fund Tk37,652.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Water Resources contributed Tk4,660,241 to the relief fund.
The Secretariat donated Tk104,050, the Bangladesh Water Development Board Tk4,300,000, the Water Resources Planning Organization Tk67,715, the Haor and Wetland Development Directorate Tk22,200, the River Research Institute Tk145,000, and the Joint Rivers Commission Tk21,276.
