Police headquarters has urged to return weapons and ammunition, looted from various police stations/units/duty locations in Bangladesh, voluntarily.
The looting incidents took place after ousting of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5 amid a mass uprising centring anti-quota movement.
The police headquarters on Tuesday warned that action will be taken if these items are not voluntarily returned by September 3.
According to a press release signed by Additional Inspector General (Media and PR) Inamul Haq Sagar, some of the stolen weapons and ammunition have already been recovered.
Efforts to recover the remaining stolen weapons and ammunition are ongoing.
Anyone in possession of such stolen weapons or ammunition is requested to return them to the nearest police station by September 3.
Failure to do so will result in legal action against them, said the release.
