21 senior police officers transferred, posted to new positions

The reshuffle includes promotions and postings at the Additional IGP, DIG, Additional DIG, and SP levels

The government has transferred and posted 21 senior officers of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Police) cadre to new positions under a major reshuffle in the police administration on Sunday.

The officers hold the ranks of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Additional DIG, and Superintendent of Police (SP).

The transfers and postings were announced through a notification issued on Sunday by the Police-1 Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to the notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Touhid Ahmed on behalf of the President, the order has been issued in the public interest and takes effect immediately.

DIG Md Mushfiqur Rahman has been promoted and posted as Additional IGP at Police Headquarters. National Security Intelligence (NSI) Director Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, who held the rank of DIG, has been promoted and appointed as Additional IGP of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

DIG Md Moniruzzaman has been promoted and posted as Additional IGP of Police Telecom, while Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Additional Director General Faruk Ahmed, who held the rank of DIG, has been promoted and assigned as Additional IGP of the Highway Police.

At the DIG level, Proloy Chisim has been posted to the Police Training Centre (PTC), Noakhali; Mia Masud Karim to the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) Office of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN); Mohammad Osman Gani to PTC Rangpur; and AFM Mosharraf Hossain Miahzi to PTC Khulna.

At the Additional DIG level, Moha Asaduzzaman has been transferred to RAB; AKM Aktaruzzaman and Md Kutub Uddin to Police Headquarters; Md Al Mamun as Commandant of the 2nd APBN; Sarkar Mohammad Kaiser to Police Staff Training School (PSTS), Betbunia; and Mohammad Mahibul Islam Khan to the Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA), Sardah.

Additional DIG Md Abdul Warish has been transferred to PTC Rangpur, while Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan has been attached to the office of the DIG, Barishal range.

At the SP level, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir has been posted to Police Headquarters; Md Zahidur Rahman to BPA, Sardah; Salma Syed Poly to the office of the DIG, Rangpur Range; and Md Shahidul Islam and Md Kamruzzaman have been attached to the office of the DIG, Barishal range.
