The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated an inquiry into allegations against Harunor Rashid, additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), for amassing illegal asset and money laundering.
Based on intelligence reports, the ACC is examining claims that Harun amassed crores of taka through corruption and irregularities.
The ACC is also investigating former DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia for similar corruption-related charges.
A three-member team, led by Deputy Director Zainal Abedin, has been assigned to the case.
The complaint against Harun alleges that he has built a resort called “President Resort” on 30 acres of land in the Haor area near Hosnipur village, Mithamain, Kishoreganj.
