Heavy rainfall is anticipated in various parts of Bangladesh over the next two to three days, driven by the influence of the monsoon and a low-pressure system.
Furthermore, strong winds are likely to occur over the Bay of Bengal.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued a 72-hour forecast starting from 9am on Friday.
They reported that a low-pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal-Bangladesh coast. The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, center of the low to Assam across Bangladesh. Monsoon is active in Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.
“On Friday, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions,” BMD said.
