Former chief justice and law commission chairman Justice ABM Khairul Haque has resigned from the post, which he had been holding since 2013.
He tendered his resignation on Tuesday, Law Ministry sources said.
Justice Haque was appointed the chairman of the Law Commission on July 23, 2013, with the status of chief justice. His contract was extended three times—in 2016, 2019, and 2022.
Justice Haque became the 19th chief justice of Bangladesh on September 27, 2010, and retired on May 17, 2011.
